Who we are

LocumCare is an Ontario online marketplace connecting patients and care homes that need on-demand healthcare staffing with independent healthcare workers. LocumCare is a technology platform; it does not provide healthcare services, employ healthcare workers, or manage care.

The framework we follow

We operate under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). We do not process personal health information (PHI), and we are intentionally out of scope for Ontario's Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA).

What we collect

• Account details: name, email address, password (hashed), role.
• Profile details appropriate to your role (phone, address, position).
• Booking and shift activity needed to operate the marketplace.
• Limited technical data (IP address, browser type) for security and debugging.

Date of birth and full street address (for patient accounts) are stored with field-level encryption on top of database-level encryption.

Where we keep it

Personal data is stored on Canadian-region infrastructure (Fly.io Toronto and Tigris Canadian region) and processed by Canadian-region service providers (Postmark, Cloudflare). We do not transfer personal data to US-region storage.

Your rights

• You can access the personal information we hold about you.
• You can request correction of inaccurate information.
• You can request deletion of your account — see our delete account page.
• You can withdraw consent for non-essential processing at any time.
